Mackenzie Arnold, a three-time A-League Women Goalkeeper of the Year, is the top shot-stopper in the Matildas’ ranks.

Arnold made her Olympic Games debut at Rio 2016. She was also a part of the Matildas team that finished fourth at Tokyo 2020, an Olympic best for the Australian women’s football team.

She has also featured thrice in the FIFA Women’s World Cup and twice in the AFC Women’s Asian Cup.

Born on February 25, 1994, in Gold Coast, Mackenzie Arnold developed a passion for football from a young age. She played her junior career at Burleigh Heads, followed by Robina City and developed a reputation as an all-round goalkeeper.

She made her Matildas debut, aged 18, in November 2012 against Chinese Taipei and kept a clean sheet.

Arnold, meanwhile, also made her A-League Women debut in the 2011-12 season with Perth Glory. She made 14 appearances in the 2014 season when the club finished the season as runners-up.

She has also represented Canberra United, Western Sydney Wanderers and hometown club Brisbane Roar, winning the league’s Goalkeeper of the Year award with each one of them.
