バイオグラフィー

Leamon King, who ran in college at U Cal Berkeley, placed fourth at the Final Trials and only made the Olympic team as a member of the relay squad. After the Melbourne team had been chosen, he twice equalled the world record of 10.1 for 100m and on both occasions he beat Bobby Morrow who went on to win the Olympic title. King had tied the 100 yd world record in May 1956, running 9.3 in Fresno, California. King won his only major championship when he took the AAU 100y in 1957, the same year he finished third in the NCAA 100 behind Morrow and Ira Murchison. King was runner-up in the AAU 100 in 1956. He later became a schoolteacher.
