バイオグラフィー

Klaus Sulzenbacher was a pioneer in Austrian Nordic skiing. He grew up in Kitzbühel in the Tyrol, the epicenter of Austrian Alpine skiing dominance, but he turned to Nordic, and was the first Austrian to reach the international level in that discipline. During his career Sulzenbacher won 14 World Cup races, and was seasonal overall champion in 1987-88 and 1989-90. He won two Olympic medals in both 1988 and 1992, with a silver in the individual event in 1988, and bronzes in team in 1988 and in both team and individual in 1992. At the 1991 World Championships, Sulzenbacher won a gold medal in the team relay and a silver in the individual. In 1992 Sulzenbacher was given a Silver Medal by the Austrian Republic for Meritorious Service.
