Sprinter and hurdler Karin Reichert-Frisch finished fifth with the sprint relay under her birth name Frisch at the 1964 Tokyo Olympics. In 1966 she was named Sportswoman of the Year along with long jumper and pentathlete Helga Hoffmann. Frisch then married journalist Hans-Ulrich Reichert from South German Radio and used that name at the 1968 Olympics. She was eliminated in the second round over 100.

In 1966, she won three medals at the European Championships – bronze in the 100, and two silver in the 80 hurdles, and with the sprint relay. In West Germany she claimed national titles in the 80 hurdles in 1966-67, and the 100 metres in 1967, the same year she was also awarded the Silver Bay Leaf.

Personal Best: 100 – 11.4 (1967).
