バイオグラフィー

A member of Union Yacht Club Traunsee, Harald Fereberger attended three editions of the Olympic sailing tournament. In 1952 in Helsinki, he and Harald von Musil, were 14th among 21 duos in the Star Class, and in 1960 in Rome he partnered with Carl Auteried to come 17th among 31 entrants in the Flying Dutchman Class. Finally, in 1972 in Montreal, he joined Franz Eisl and Karl Stangl in placing 10th among 23 nations in the Dragon class. This trio had won the Austrian National Championship the previous year, while, in 1977, Eisl and Fereberger, with the non-Olympian Herbert Spitzbart, won the World Championships in this division.

Fereberger’s father was a sailor and Harald had been active in the sport since he was six years old. He won 37 national championships across various disciplines, and, in addition to his 1977 victory, was the World H boat champion in 1980, alongside non-Olympians Hans Frauscher and H. Gehmayer. In 1992 he succeeded Eisl as Commodore of Yacht Club Austria, a role that he held until 1996. In July 2019, Eisl and Fereberger died three days apart.
