With two dives remaining, Frank Gorman held a seemingly unassailable lead in the springboard at the Tokyo Olympics. He then missed his 10th dive so badly that he dropped to second place, and although he was the top scorer on the 10th and final dive, he failed to recover sufficient ground on Ken Sitzberger to take the gold medal. Of the many Harvard Olympians, Gorman is the only one to have won an Olympic diving medal. After the Olympics he became an investment broker but later moved into the telecommunications field.
