バイオグラフィー

Farkhat Mustafin took up wrestling in 1964 and made the Soviet national team in 1973. Mustafin, who wrestled in Greco-Roman bantamweight class for the most of his career, first found fame at the 1974 and 1975 World Championships, where he won gold medals. He also won European titles in 1974 and 1976. In addition to his World and European titles, Mustafin won Olympic bronze in 1976, World Championship silver in 1977 and European Championship silver in 1975 and 1977 and bronze in 1981 (as a featherweight). As a featherweight, he competed at the 1979 World Championships, placing fifth. Domestically, Mustafin won four Soviet titles: 1972-74 in bantamweight and 1981 in featherweight. After finishing his career, Mustafin worked as a wrestling coach with CSKA Moskva. His daughter Aliya was a gymnast who won gold on the uneven bars at the 2012 Olympics and was 2010 individual all-around World Champion.
