バイオグラフィー

Eevi Huttunen was one of the best female long distance skaters in the 1950s. She made her international début at the 1948 World All-around Championships and won her first World distance medals (silver in 5,000 and bronze in 3,000) at that Championships and she won a distance medal in either the 3K or 5K at every World All-around Championships in which she competed between 1950 and 1960. Her only World all-around title and only medal in the all-around came at the 1951 World All-around Championships, where she won the 1,500, 3,000 and 5,000 and was second at 500. Besides her three distance titles in 1951, she won four more – 3,000 in 1957 and 1959; 5,000 in 1953 and 1954. Huttunen made her last international appearance at the 1960 Winter Olympics, where women's speed skating was first contested. She won a bronze in the 3,000, was ninth in the 1,000 and 14th in both the 500 and 1,500. Domestically Huttunen won twelve Finnish titles in all-around (1946-1948, 1950-1955, 1957, 1959-60) and she was selected as Finnish female athlete of the year in 1949, 1951, 1953 and 1960.

Personal Bests: 500 – 48.2 (1957); 1000 – 1:37.2 (1960); 1500 – 2:35.1 (1960); 3000 – 5:18.8 (1957).
