Doris Ann KIRKMAN

Doris Kirkman was born in New Jersey but later settled in Muncy, Pennsylvania after her marriage to Edward Cannon in 1954, who was a career military man. After his retirement they farmed in Muncy, raising one daughter. Doris Kirkman worked at Woolworth’s in Muncy and served with the VFW (Veterans of Foreign Wars) Ladies’ Auxiliary. Doris and Edward Cannon were married for over 55 years and died within two days of each other in June 2010. Their obituary noted that Doris “was also a homemaker, supporting her husband as a military wife. She enjoyed reading, sports, sewing, quilting and she dearly loved animals.”
