Andy Seras wrestled in college at the University of Albany, where he was NCAA D-3 National Champion in 1985. He wrestled for the US at the 1988 Seoul Olympics, and at five World Championships between 1989 and 1994. He was a Pan American gold medalist in 1991 and a silver medalist in 1995.
Seras was a coach even while he was competing, serving as an assistant at Albany from 1985-96. He then became an assistant at Sacred Heart University, moving up to head coach there in 2002. After five seasons at Sacred Heart, Seras became an assistant coach at SUNY Binghamton. Seras also coached several US National teams in Greco-Roman, including at the 2004 Olympics, the World Championships in 2001, 2002, and 2006; the World Cup in 2001 and 2003, and coaching the US at the 2005 World Junior Championships. Seras is a member of the University of Albany Hall of Fame.
