Albert Amrhein was a businessman, serving as chairman and member of the SC Frankfurt 1880, a rugby player (outside forward), and a track & field athlete. He was captain of the rugby team of the SC Frankfurt, losing to France in the final (27-17), winning a silver medal at the 1900 Olympics in Paris. He was also a member of the crew of Southern Germany at the very first representative rugby game, "North vs. South" (Result: 11-3) on 4 November 1900 at Carls-Aue in Kassel. In 1906 Amrhein was made an Honorary Member of SC Frankfurt 1880.
