バイオグラフィー

Alajos Keserű (often called Keserű II) began his sporting career in 1917, earning 73 caps for Hungary from 1921-35. He started his Olympic career in 1924 at Paris with a fifth place, won the silver medal behind Germany in Amsterdam in 1928 and four years later won a gold medal. His brother Ferenc (Keserű I)was his teammate in all three tournaments. With the Hungarian team Keserű was a four-time European champion (1926, 1927, 1931, 1934) and later worked as a trainer, first in Tatabanya and later in Budapest. He won seven Hungarian Championships in water polo (1921, 1922, 1925-1927, 1929, 1935), and was also a successful swimmer, winning three Hungarian titles – 1921 and 1922 in the 4×200 free relay and in 1922 also as an open-water swimmer. After World War II Keserű worked as an administrator in Budapest for a machine factory and for the local electricity works.
