Digital Kits
These themed digital kits contain text, images, videos and informative material to create your own cultural or educational programmes, without any transport or logistical constraints. The first of these digital kits is now available, based on the theme of Olympic mascots.
The kit includes everything you need to know about the family-friendly, fun and dynamic Olympic mascots. Their function of the mascots is simple, but crucial: they act as hosts, welcoming athletes and visitors alike. They embody the universal Olympic values and, most importantly, also introduce a local touch. The very first mascot was launched as an experiment at Grenoble 1968, and the first official mascot in Olympic history was born in Munich in 1972: Waldi, the Dachshund dog.
Ever since, with each edition of the Olympic Games, ordinary people and famous design agencies compete to come up with the ideal new mascot. Often emblematic animals are chosen, and sometimes the mascots are humans or creatures of legend. But they always add that special touch of humour and cheer to the Olympic experience.
More digital kits will be available soon.
