Refugee taekwondo athlete Kasra Mehdipournejad: My Paris 2024 highlights
The Iran-born fighter got his Olympic campaign off to a winning start in the 80kg taekwondo competition at Paris 2024 with a hard-fought victory over Papua New Guinea’s Gibson Kaogo Mara in their opening bout. However, Mehdipournejad missed out on the medal rounds after losing to Rio 2016 champion and reigning world champion Cheick Sallah Cisse of Côte d’Ivoire.
