Mohammad learned Judo from his father, who was also Judoka, and took up the sport at the age of 8. By 13, he had been invited to train with Iran's national team.
Before he was forced to flee Iran and seek refuge in the Netherlands in 2017, he secured first place in the Junior Asian Championships, second place in the Asian Championships at senior level, and fifth place at the Hohhot Grand Prix.
He continues to train as a judoka in the Netherlands, where he took part in the Malaga Senior European Cup 2019 and earned 3rd place. He was a member of the Refugee Olympic Team at the Olympic Games Paris 2024.
