Versatile Tom Schaar won his third career X Games gold in the menâs park skateboarding in Chiba, Japan, on Sunday (22 September) - 11 years after winning his first.
The park-vert dual threat, who turned 25 last week, rode to a 90.66 on his second attempt that gave him the edge over Australiaâs Kieran Woolley, who closed in with a 88.33 on his third and final run but just missed out on the top spot.
Schaarâs American compatriot Gavin Bottger took bronze (86.33).
The event's defending champion Keegan Palmer - who beat out Schaar for the gold at the Olympic Games Paris 2024 - placed sixth, unable to do better than a 77.66.
Schaar also won bronze in the vert a day earlier, as part of what has been a successful summer haul with his vert gold at X Games Ventura, silver in Paris and the two medals in Chiba.
Nagahara Yuro, the lone Japanese finalist who had qualified third, finished last in the eight-man field.
