Manchester United will be on the road to face Spanish side Granada in the UEFA Europa League (UEL) 2020-21 quarter-finals first leg this week.

Having already exited all other competitions and trailing local rivals Manchester City by 14 points in the Premier League table, the UEL stands as Man Utd's only chance of ending the season with a trophy.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's men, thus, will be eager to seize the advantage against Granada before hosting them at Old Trafford for the second leg next week.

Granada, however, may present quite a challenge. Playing their maiden campaign in Europe, the Diego Martinez-coached side has impressed en route to the UEL quarter-finals.

Yangel Herrera, on loan from Manchester City, has been Granada’s top scorer in Europe this season with five goals, including in the qualifying rounds.

Manchester United, meanwhile, will have some serious selection woes.

Marcus Rashford being forced to come off after scoring in the last Premier League game against Brighton would have been concerning for all United fans and the English striker's involvement against Granada is doubtful.

Rashford, in fact, is Manchester United's top scorer in Europe this season with seven goals.

Anthony Martial is already expected to miss the rest of the season with an injury while Edinson Cavani still looks short of match fitness after coming back from his injury layoff.

Defender Eric Bailly is also out after contracting COVID while on international duty while right-back Alex Telles is ill. The long list of absentees may stretch United thin, especially up front.

The onus, hence, will fall on the midfield duo of Paul Pogba and Bruno Fernandes to inspire United in the crunch tie.

Paul Pogba scored in United's crucial Round of 16 second leg tie against AC Milan to help the Red Devils progress in the competition at the Italian giants' expense. Bruno Fernandes is United's highest scorer in all competitions this season.
