Indian golfers Anirban Lahiri and Udayan Mane wrapped up their Tokyo Olympics campaign on a sorry note at the Kasumigaseki Country Club on Sunday.

Heading into the final round on a tied-28th position, Anirban Lahiri carded a one-over 72 in the fourth and last round to slip further to the tied-42nd spot with a total score of five-under 279 (67, 72, 68, 72).

Anirban Lahiri, who finished 57th at the Rio 2016 Olympics, was tied-eighth after the opening round before he admittedly lost momentum. The 34-year-old carded four bogeys and three birdies on Sunday.

Olympic debutant Udayan Mane too found no joy on the greens as a one-over 72 in his fourth round saw him finish 56th overall in the 60-man field with a score of three-over 287 (76, 69, 70, 72). The 30-year-old Udayan Mane carded five bogeys and four birdies in the final round.

Meanwhile, the overnight leader Xander Schauffele of the USA staved off a stiff challenge from his nearest challengers and carded a four-under 67 for the day to take the gold medal. The American totalled at 18-under 266.

Slovakia's Rory Sabbatini was the star performer of the day as he carded 10-under 61 to climb 15 places and take the silver with a score of 17-under 267.

Chinese Taipei’s CT Pan came through a seven-way shootoff to take home the bronze after being tied third at 15-under 269.
