Lionel Messi has done it again.

The Argentinian superstar who was not present at the ceremony in London, picked up his third Best FIFA Men's Player Award on Monday evening (15 January) as Barcelona's playmaker Aitana Bonmati added the Best Women's Player Award to her Ballon d'Or trophy.

Messi led the David Beckham-owned team Inter Miami to the Leagues Cup title and topped the vote ahead of Erling Haaland (Manchester City) and Kylian Mbappe (PSG).

The Best FIFA Football Awards are held annually and celebrate achievements in men's and women's football over the previous 12 months.

Manchester City's manager Pep Guardiola was rewarded for guiding his side to the treble by claiming the Best FIFA Men's Coach prize, while Sarina Wiegman extended her record by winning a fourth Best FIFA Women's Coach award (two with the Netherlands, two with England).

As well as top players, goalkeepers and coaches, there is also the coveted Puskas Award for the best goal of the previous 12 months.
