Tokyo 2020 bronze medallist Jagger Eaton put down a stellar 85.01 run to lead the skaters through to the men's semi-finals at the skateboarding street world championships 2022 in 2023 on Friday (3 February).

Carrying the same form that saw him top the open qualifier, the 21-year-old American strung together two impeccable runs featuring a switch front nose grind on the gap to rail to clinch a ticket to the next round.

Also progressing to tomorrow's semi-final are Olympic silver medallist Kelvin Hoefler and top French prospect Aurelien Giraud.

The 29-year-old Brazilian, who scraped through yesterday's open qualifier, didn't skip a beat on the night finishing the quarters in second place while Giraud sealed his spot with a clutch backside nollie flip on his second run

Elsewhere, Japanese skateboarder Onodera Ginwoo once more impressed at the Aljada skate park.

Stepping into the spotlight after the shock early departure of Horigome Yuto at the close of last night's open qualifier, the 12-year-old booked his place in the semis in fourth place with a 81.08 score.

This week’s street world championship is also doubling up as a Paris 2024 qualifier with Olympic World Skateboard Ranking (OWSR) points on offer based on the final results.

The men's semi-finals will begin on Saturday 3 February at 18:40 (GST).
