Olympic champions Jasmine Camacho-Quinn, Gianmarco Tamberi and Ryan Crouser hurdled, jumped and threw to victory on Monday evening (9 September) at the Gala dei Castelli in Bellinzona, Switzerland.

The event is one of the silver standard World Athletics Continental Tour competitions.

Crouser, the American back-to-back-to-back Olympic champion in men’s shotput, threw more than a metre clear of compatriot Payton Otterdahl, 22.25m to 21.61m, for victory. Italy's Leonardo Fabbri rounded out the top three with a best throw of 21.36m.

Puerto Rico’s Camacho-Quinn, the Tokyo 2020 gold medallist and Paris 2024 bronze medallist in the 100m hurdles, ran 12.52 to hold off American Grace Stark (12.54) in the women’s 100m hurdles final. Switzerland’s Ditaji Kambundji was third at 12.82.

The ever-entertaining Tamberi surpassed his own meeting record 2.24m, set in 2023, in the men’s high jump final. He cleared 2.27m, finishing ahead of Ukraine’s Oleh Doroshchuk (2.24m). Fellow Italian Manuel Lando finished third, after a successful first attempt at 2.20m.

Paris 2024 men’s 110m hurdles champ Grant Holloway of the U.S. was clipped at the end, settling for second place by just .01. Instead the winner was Frenchmen Sasha Zhoya, who ran a 13.22 to Holloway’s 13.23. American Cordell Tinch was third with a 13.54 time.

Two-time Olympic bronze medallist in the men’s 400m hurdles Alison dos Santos of Brazil finished third in the event here, posting a 48.78 behind France’s Clement Ducos (47.94) and the Netherlands’ Nick Smidt (48.74).

Italy’s Marcell Jacobs, the Tokyo 2020 100m champion who finished fifth at Paris 2024, ran 10.12 seconds in his signature event to finish just out of the top three in fourth position. Jamacia’s Ackeem Blake had the fastest time Monday at 9.96.
