Two-time Olympic champion Mikaela Shiffrin has announced her engagement to fellow alpine skiing star Aleksander Aamodt Kilde.
The American and the Norwegian have been together for over three years after meeting at a ski camp.
In a joint Instagram post, the pair shared a series of images announcing the next step in their relationship.
Shiffrin is widely considered the greatest ski race competitor in history, with the most World Cup wins of any male or female in the sport.
Congratulatory messages from around the world of sport were left in the comments section of their announcement, with fellow Olympian Nina O'Brien writing: “Omg congrats you two!!”
Aksel Lund Svindal, Maria Therese Tviberg, Lindsey Horan, Allyson Felix, and Kelley O’Hara were all among the many names to pass on their congratulations to the couple.
Breezy Johnson joked about Aleksander switching alliances and skiing for the USA.
The couple have both been recovering from injuries over the last few months, Shiffrin recently returned to action after six weeks out with MCL knee damage, securing the Crystal Globe trophy in the women's slalom discipline for an eighth time, but missing out on the overall globe and finishing third in the season rankings.
Kilde's season was ended in January with a crash that left him unsure if he would ever race again.
