The University of Connecticut and Purdue will meet in the final of the 2024 Men's NCAA Basketball Tournament in Glendale, Arizona on Monday (8 April).
The UConn Huskies are bidding to become the eighth team to win consecutive NCAA men's basketball D1 titles, and are now one victory away from that feat after defeating Final Four debutants Alabama 86-72 on Saturday.
Stephon Castle scored 21 points with Donovan Clingan adding 18 as the Huskies scored eight unanswered points from 56-56 to pull clear as UConn maintained their record of winning all their March Madness games by double-point margins.
Earlier, the Purdue Boilermakers made their first men's NCAA final since 1969 thanks to a 63-50 triumph over North Carolina State.
Purdue were never behind in the contest against the NC State Wolfpack who were returning to the Final Four after 38 years away.
Canadian star center Zach Edey led the way with 20 points, 12 rebounds and four assists to set up a mouthwatering clash with opposite number Clingan.
