The Indian men’s cricket team will look to follow up its 2-0 Test series sweep over Bangladesh with another emphatic display in the three-match T20 series starting from Sunday.
The Shri Madhavrao Scindia Cricket Stadium in Gwalior will host the first India vs Bangladesh T20 cricket match before the caravan shifts to the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi on October 9.
The final match is scheduled at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad three days later.
Live streaming and live telecast of all three IND vs BAN T20 matches will be available in India.
Suryakumar Yadav will be India’s T20 captain for the series against Bangladesh. Suryakumar, along with senior team-mate Hardik Pandya, will need to shoulder the responsibility of guiding a very young and fresh-looking Indian side.
Under new coach Gautam Gambhir, the Indian cricket team is currently in the process of rebuilding its T20 setup after senior campaigners Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Ravindra Jadeja retired from the format after the T20 World Cup earlier this year.
The 15-member Indian squad for the Bangladesh series includes three uncapped players, including young pace sensations Mayank Yadav and Harshit Rana. All rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy will also be in the mix for his India debut.
The likes of Abhishek Sharma, Riyan Parag, Rinku Singh, Varun Chakravarthy and Sanju Samson will also get opportunities. Arshdeep Singh and Ravi Bishnoi will lead the bowling line-up in the absence of Jasprit Bumrah.
Najmul Hossain Shanto will continue to lead the visitors, who are set to welcome back all-rounder Mehidy Hasan Miraz to the Bangladesh cricket team’s T20 setup after close to 14 months.
Litton Das, Shak Mahedi Hasan, Mustafizur Rahman, Taskin Ahmed and Tanzim Hasan Sakib are also part of the 16-member squad.
India are currently at the top of the ICC Men’s T20I Team Rankings while Bangladesh are ninth.
India vs Bangladesh T20 head-to-head
As far as head-to-head is concerned, India have only ever lost to Bangladesh once in 14 meetings to date. The Bangla Tigers’ solitary win, a seven-wicket victory in Delhi, came in the first T20 of a three-match series played back in 2019.
India, however, won the remaining two games to win the series. The two teams last met in the Super 8 stage of the T20 World Cup as Hardik Pandya’s blistering half-century led the Men in Blue to a 50-run win in Antigua.
