The future of artistic gymnastics will be on display this week in Antalya, Turkey, as the 2023 Junior World Artistic Gymnastics Championships take centre stage at the Antalya Gymnastics Hall.
In 2019, the International Gymnastics Federation held the first junior worlds in which Tokyo 2020 Olympic balance beam champion Guan Chenchen of the People's Republic of China made her debut to the world. Other stars that emerged from Gyor include world medallists Skye Blakely of the United States, Wei Xuanyuan of China, Illia Kovton of Ukraine and Jennifer Gadirova of Great Britain.
One gymnast to keep an eye on at the 2023 edition will be American Hezly Rivera, who, according to TheGymter.net, has the second highest all-around score of the season.
