Davis Cup Finals places are up for grabs in the Qualifiers taking place from 3-5 February.
There are 12 matches with the 12 winners joining reigning champions Canada, 2022 runners-up Australia, hosts Spain and wildcards Italy in September's Finals group stage.
World number four Casper Ruud is the highest-ranked player in the Qualifiers and will hope to lead Norway to victory over Serbia and into their first Finals appearance.
The Serbs are missing recent Australian Open champion Novak Djokovic with world number 33 Miomir Kecmanovic leading the side.
Top seeds Croatia, who have played in every edition of the Davis Cup Finals and reached last year's semi-finals, go up against Austria.
Croatia are without Marin Cilic who underwent knee surgery ahead of the Australian Open, but Borna Coric is fit with Olympic gold medallists Mate Pavic and Nikola Mektic a formidable doubles pairing.
Austria are sweating on the fitness of Dominic Thiem who hopes to make his first Davis Cup appearance since 2019.
The 2020 US Open champion has slipped to 95 in the world after a number of injuries, and he is currently recovering from a rib muscle problem sustained at the Australian Open.
Second seeds France visit Hungary with 41-year-old doubles specialist Nicolas Mahut in the squad.
Australian Open semi-finalist Tommy Paul will turn out for the United States when they go to Tashkent to take on Uzbekistan.
Paul is up to 19 in the world following his exploits in Melbourne, where he fell to Djokovic, and he is joined by Davis Cup debutants Jenson Brooksby, Mackenzie McDonald and Austin Krajicek.
WIth Andy Murray recovering from his Australian Open exertions, Cam Norrie and Dan Evans will lead Great Britain's challenge as they travel to Colombia.
Three-time Grand Slam winner Stan Wawrinka is back for Switzerland after a seven-year Davis Cup hiatus as they take on Germany in Trier.
Tsitsipas and Rune bid for promotion in World Group I Play-offs
There are also 12 World Group I Play-offs this weekend with the winners joining the 12 losing teams from the Qualifiers in September's World Group I.
After leading Greece to victory over Tunisia in World Group II last September, Stefanos Tsitsipas will hope to repeat the feat against against Ecuador.
After his run to the final of the Australian Open, the world number three - with the help of brother Petros - could send the Greeks through to World Group I for the very first time.
Another top-10 player in the World Group I Play-offs is Holger Rune who reached the fourth round in Melbourne.
He leads Denmark against India who won 4-0 when the teams met 12 months ago in New Delhi, also in the World Group I Play-offs.
Rune did not play on that occasion, and he makes just his fourth career Davis Cup appearance in Hillerød.
Davis Cup 2023 Format
There are 12 Qualifiers, 12 World Group I Play-offs and 12 World Group II Play-offs taking place from either 3-4 February or 4-5 February.
In each case, the teams will play two singles matches on day one with the doubles and two more singles matches (if required) on day two.
The 12 losing teams in the Qualifiers will go into World Group I with the 12 winners from the World Group I Play-offs. Similarly, the 12 losing teams in the World Group I Play-offs will go into World Group II with the 12 winners from the World Group II Play-offs.
The 12 winners from the Qualifiers will advance to the 2023 Davis Cup Finals where 16 teams will contest the Group Stage in four cities in Spain with the Final 8 held in Malaga from 12-26 November.
