Bored at home in isolation and finding yourself at a loose end?

As the world continues to work on containing the Covid-19 outbreak, Olympic Channel has found another five things to do from the comfort of your own home that will keep you happy, healthy and entertained.

  1. Sing and dance

Get up and move your body! Serena Williams and her daughter Alexis Ohanian Jr. sure are.

The four-time Olympic and 23-time Grand Slam champion is making the most of the extra time with her family away from the tennis circuit, dancing here with Alexis Jr. to a song from the animated musical Tangled.

  1. Read this Katie Ledecky interview

Katie Ledecky is taking an online infectious diseases class at Stanford University this semester, she has told the New York Times.

She's also managing to train in a private 25-metre pool in her neighbourhood while public facilities are closed.

Explaining the class, Ledecky said: "It’s a lot about the different environmental and social factors that cause these outbreaks. They go through SARS and MERS and HIV, but there’s definitely a focus on coronavirus.

"Our professors are giving us insight on the data that they’re tracking. It’s a lot about the bats and the markets and learning how to calculate transmission rates and contractibility and all those different things.

"It’s been really fascinating."

  1. Adapt and play your sport indoors

You've seen how sport climbers have adapted their homes as makeshift climbing walls to do home workouts in quarantine, but you don't have to do anything wild to find ways to play your sport at home.

Just ask U.S. rugby sevens player Carlin Isles, who you saw a couple of days ago using his stairs to do speed training, has found a new use for his two-storey house: a makeshift rugby goal.

  1. Get hyped for Beijing 2022

Winter sports fans, start to get excited about Beijing 2022.

The International Ice Hockey Federation has confirmed the groups for both the men's and women's tournaments in the Chinese capital.

On the men's side, the U.S. and Canada have been drawn in the same group for the first time since 2010.

The women's tournament will take place as a two-tier competition, with the top five teams in the world – Canada, USA, Finland, Russia, and Sweden – all forming Group A.

  1. Be inspired by athlete doctors

Eleanor Davis is a British runner.

A UK top-10 marathoner in 2019, Davis was meant to be running the London Marathon today on her journey to trying to qualify for Tokyo 2020.

Instead, the doctor from Stockport is spending the day on the front-lines of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Read about her personal story and the challenges she's facing – and be inspired by her tenacity – here in the Guardian.
