Happy Earth Day!

Today mark's the 50th anniversary of the celebration whose mission is to diversify, educate, and activate the environmental movement worldwide.

With that in mind, there are plenty of ways to keep motivated and productive, no matter where you are in isolation.

Here are our five things for today…

  1. Tune into Earth Day Live

The world’s largest civic event is going digital for the first time in its history.

And you can tune in from anywhere in the world over the next three days to a livestream what will include performances, training sessions, and a wide range of events designed to engage, inform, and inspire millions of people nationwide.

  1. Watch a live sports event

Just when you thought there were no live sporting events going on in the world, think again.

Cycling teams have joined forces to create an innovative virtual event, the Digital Swiss 5 which comprises five daily one-hour stages from the Tour de Suisse.

The race sees athletes competing from their homes, and included the likes of reigning Olympic road race champion Greg van Avermaet, 2019 Vuelta winner Primoz Roglic, and Grand Tour triple crown winner Vincenzo Nibali.

You can watch the action live on Olympic Channel, with coverage starting on Wednesday 22nd April. Click here to find the timings of our live streams in your region (not in USA/Canada).

  1. Get a workout in

There are plenty of excuses not to work out, and not having the right weights is one of them.

Perhaps we can all take a leaf out of Russian long jumper Darya Klishina's book and use what is around us.

Even if that means picking up the fluffiest thing that you can see. (Disclaimer - no pets were harmed in the making of her video)

I hope she motivates you to do something similar, and after you're done, be sure to watch our feature on her being the only member of the Russian track and field team at Rio 2016, and how she uses that experience as motivation towards achieving more at Tokyo 2020.

Also, don't forget that we've been showcasing the top home workouts on this special page every day, as we encourage everyone to #StayHealthy, #StayStrong, and #StayActive.

  1. Take the home swimming challenge

Miss swimming, among other things?

We've seen some creative ways people have been using to practice their favourite sport at home, but former British swimmer Sharron Davies has just raised the bar!

At 57 years of age, the Moscow 1980 silver medallist managed a medley of her own indoor and without getting wet!

  1. Vote for your favourite Olympic stadium

Fancy a less physical form of competition?

The battle to determine your favourite Olympic stadium has reached the quarter-finals stage. There's still time to get your vote in so what are you waiting for?
