The Asian Games 2023 SFV tournament followed a double elimination bracket format, which means a player is only knocked out after losing two ties, barring the grand final and qualifying stage.

The 16 winners from the Round of 32 enter the winners’ bracket and play each other until a winner from the bracket is determined after the winners’ bracket final.

The 16 losing teams from the Round of 32, meanwhile, start off the losers’ bracket.

The losers from each round of the winners’ bracket keep dropping down to the losers’ bracket in every other round (2, 4 and 6) to play against the teams progressing from earlier rounds. The loser of the winners’ bracket final and the winner of the losers’ bracket round 7 meet in the losers’ bracket final.

The losing team from the losers’ bracket final clinch the bronze medal while the winner meets the eventual winner of the winners’ bracket in the grand final for the gold medal.

A total of 35 esports players from 22 countries competed at the Asian Games 2023 Street Fighter V esports event.
