League of Legends at Asian Games 2023 esports: Results and scores of Indian team

League of Legends (LoL), a popular multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) video game, was one of the seven esports medal events at the Asian Games 2023, held in Hangzhou, the People’s Republic of China.
League of Legends at the Asian Games 2023 was held from September 25 to 29 at the China Hangzhou Esports Centre.
League of Legends is a 5v5 multiplayer online battle arena game (MOBA) where two teams of five players each battle it out on a quadrangular map. The main objective of the game is to destroy the opponent team’s main structure, also called the Nexus, located at the other end of the battlefield. Whichever team destroys the opposition’s Nexus first wins.
A total of 15 League of Legends teams, including the Indian LoL team, competed at the 19th Asian Games.
The Indian League of Legends team enjoyed an unbeaten run at the seeding event for South Asian countries in Macau and started its campaign from the quarter-finals. Malaysia, Saudi Arabia and hosts China are the other seeded teams in the competition and started from the final eight
The other 11 teams were divided into four groups.

Group A: Hong Kong China, the Republic of Korea, Kazakhstan
Group B: Japan, Vietnam, Palestine
Group C: UAE, Chinese Taipei, Maldives
Group D: Thailand, Macao China
After round-robin matches the winners of each group progressed to quarter-finals.
India lost in the quarter-finals against Vietnam and bowed out.
The group stage, held on September 25-26, were conducted in the best-of-one (BO1) match format. The knockouts were played in the best-of-three (BO3) format from the quarter-final stage onwards.
Each LoL team had five players and one substitute.
The Indian LoL team was captained by Akshaj Shenoy (Kai), Samarth Arvind Trivedi (CrankO), Mihir Ranjan (Lotus), Sanindhya Malik (Deadcorp), Aakash Shandilya (Infi) and Aditya Selvaraj (Krow) were the other five members of the team.
