Sixteen-year-old Samuel Watson (USA) and Poland's Aleksandra Kalucka won the men's and women's speed titles respectively on day two of the IFSC Climbing World Cup competition in Edinburgh, Scotland, on Saturday (10 September).

The event began with a moment of silence in tribute to Britain's Queen Elizabeth II, who died on Thursday.

Speed climbing is one of the most intense and fastest events in the Olympic programme and the event in Edinburgh was nothing short of electrifying.

Watson defeated Jinbao Long of China in the final with a time of 5.97 seconds. Erik Noya Cardona of Spain took home the bronze medal after Italy's Gian Luca Zodda false started in the men's small final.

Intriguingly, the women's final was a battle between two sisters. Aleksandra bested sister Natalia with a time of 7.47 seconds to win the gold. USA's Emma Hunt won the bronze in the small final after edging Italy's Giulia Randi by 0.35 seconds.

The full results for both events are available here: Men's speed final | Women's speed final.

The action from Edinburgh is live on Olympic Channel via Olympics.com and the action concludes with lead finals on Sunday, and Olympic and European champion Janja Garnbret in action.
