Reigning world champions Ilia Malinin (men’s), Sakamoto Kaori (women's), and Deanna Stellato-Dudek and Maxime Deschamps (pairs) highlighted a stacked field at 2024 Skate Canada International this weekend (25-27 October) in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

The event was the second of six ISU Grand Prix competitions that provide skaters with the opportunity to advance to December’s elite Grand Prix Final in Grenoble, France.

Malinin claimed the season opener at Skate America and added to that success in Halifax. See all the results from Allen, Texas, here.

Three-time ice dance world medallists Piper Gilles and Paul Poirier were also victorious to make it four consecutive titles at their home Grand Prix.

Sunday, 27 October

Malinin wasn't at his best, but still landed three quads and thrilled the crowd with a backflip. He wins Skate Canada just a week after claiming the Skate America title. Read about his win here.

Gilles/Poirier won the ice dance in the final competition of the event, their fifth consecutive here.

Saturday, 26 October

Malinin was just off his career-best short program score (107.25) to lead after the men's short, while Gilles/Poirier close in on a fifth consecutive Skate Canada title. Read more on their performances.
