2023 World Skateboarding Tour Park San Juan: Preview, full schedule, and how to stream and watch the action live
World Champions and Olympic medallists Sky Brown and Jagger Eaton headline the park skaters descending on San Juan’s Skatepark Pocito for World Skate’s Paris 2024 Olympic Qualifier running form 21-28 May. Here’s what you need to know.
Park skateboarders looking to book their ticket to Paris 2024 will continue their qualification journey at the upcoming World Skateboarding Pro Tour 2023 stop in San Juan, Argentina from 21-28 May.
The week-long event, concluding with a final on Sunday 28 May, is set to feature 179 Olympic hopefuls all bidding to claim as many ranking points as they can to try and make it to the next Olympic Games.
Just as with February’s World Championships in Sharjah, the competition proper will begin on Wednesday 24 May with the men's and women’s open qualifier where only the top 32 skaters will advance to the quarter-finals.
There, the skaters that are pre-seeded owing to their Olympic World Skate Ranking (OWSR) will join the competition where the field will cut down through a quarter-final and semi-final leaving just eight skaters for the final.
Also following on from worlds will be the format for the contest. The open qualifier will ask skaters to perform two 45-second runs where the best score will be counted. Thereafter, it will be the best of three 45-second runs, or until there is a fall, and the best score will be counted.
From recently crowned World Champions Sky Brown and Jagger Eaton to Tokyo 2020 Olympic gold medallists Yosozumi Sakura and Keegan Palmer the field for the contest will be stacked to the brim with well-known talents.
And with breakout stars from Sharjah including Brazilian Augusto Akio and Great Britain’s Lola Tambling also due to attend, expect the unexpected when the action gets underway from Skatepark Pacito.
Here's your complete guide to the event, including the schedule and the top skateboarders to follow.

2023 World Skateboarding Tour San Juan Park: Skaters to watch
Though the desert dust has barely settled on the 2022 Skateboarding Park World Championships in 2023, the second Paris 2024 qualifier is here and there are plenty of skaters ready to make their mark.
Heading into the event, on the women's side, it will be hard to look past reigning World Champion Brown when it comes to calling a winner.
The 14-year-old Brit was imperious during the final in Sharjah finishing four points clear of Olympic silver medallist Hiraki Kokona in second place. The world title capped what has been a formidable run of form from the skater who, last year, picked up wins at the Summer X Games, Dew Tour, and the STU Open in Brazil.
Beating Brown will be the task before the rest of the field and one Olympic medallists Hiraki and Yosozumi know they can do, having achieved in the past, most notably at the Games.
Having visibly struggled at the World Champs before recovering to a third-place finish Yosozumi, who is expected to appear despite withdrawing from X Games Chiba 2023 with a late injury, will be looking for a strong performance in Argentina and many will expect her to deliver that.
Outside the skaters from Japan, the USA has plenty of talent all aiming to clinch a spot in the top three. Bryce Wettstein, Minna Stess, Grace Marhoeffer, and Ruby Lilley are all credible podium challengers and will do their best to deliver on that.
In the men's contest, the competition looks to be tighter than ever.
Dual-threat Eaton, who is attempting to qualify for both the street and park contests at Paris 2024, will be looking to continue the standard he set in Sharjah after claiming the world title with a blistering third and final run but there will be plenty poised and ready to try and slow his momentum.
Brazilians Augusto Akio and Olympic silver medallist Pedro Barros, who finished second and third, in the desert will present strong opposition as too will US skaters Gavin Bottger, Tom Schaar, Liam Pace, and Tate Carew.
Also among the chasing pack, and with a point to prove, will be Olympic champion Palmer whose campaign in the United Arab Emirates ended in disappointment. Despite qualifying on top for the quarter and semi-finals the Australian struggled on finals night finishing the contest in eighth. He will be looking to rectify his consistency in San Juan.
Palmer's countryman Olympian Kieran Woolley will also be one to watch with his fourth-place finish at worlds coinciding with a strong 2022.
