Biografia

Jayson Tatum was born in St. Louis, Missouri in March 1998. He had a passion for basketball from an early age, inspired by his father Justin - a former college player - and his godfather, former NBA player Larry Hughes.

Young Jayson attended Chaminade College Preparatory School, where he became one of the country's best high school basketball players. After graduating, he moved on to Duke University, averaging 16.8 points,7.3 rebounds, and 2.1 assists per game in his only season in college basketball.

Tatum was picked third overall by the Boston Celtics in the 2017 NBA Draft while still 19. On his NBA debut, the forward had a double-double (14 points, 10 rebounds) and went on to be nominated for the NBA Rookie of the Year award. In the playoffs, he became the first Celtics rookie to score 20 points in five consecutive playoff games as Boston made it to the Eastern Conference Finals.

In his third season, 2019-20, Tatum earned his first All-Star Game appearance. In the pandemic-disrupted campaign, Boston reached the East Finals again but came up short against the Miami Heat.
