• Minimising and compensating direct and indirect emissions from the Games, and implementing lasting low-carbon solutions for the Games and beyond
• Providing guidance to Organising Committees for the Olympic Games on sustainability topics, such as carbon management, sustainable procurement, biodiversity management and water footprinting
• Supporting International Federations and National Olympic Committees in reducing their carbon emissions through the United Nations Sports for Climate Action Framework and in protecting and restoring nature and biodiversity through the Sports for Nature Framework
• Amplifying the voice of athletes
• Encouraging our suppliers to reduce their own carbon footprints
• Supporting innovation in low- and zero-carbon solutions relevant to sporting events, such as research into the use of recycled carbon fibre in sports equipment
