Guidelines on Athlete Expression for the Olympic Games Paris 2024
The Guidelines on Athlete Expression for Paris 2024 have been approved by the IOC EB following the recommendation of the IOC Athletes’ Commission (AC) and can be found here.
They provide a framework for athletes and other Games participants to express their views during the Games and are fully in line with the Guidelines implemented for the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 and Olympic Winter Games Beijing 2022 which had provided new and increased opportunities to athletes. These Guidelines have been updated following the Olympic Charter amendments approved during the IOC Session in October 2023.
The Guidelines take into consideration the results of the consultation implemented by the IOC in April 2021 with more that 3,500 athletes on athlete expression and the subsequent recommendations submitted by the IOC AC to the IOC EB.
