2022 European Championship in Shotgun: Skeet preview, schedule, and how to watch the stars compete in the Paris 2024 Olympic qualifier
Four Paris 2024 Olympic quota spots will be on offer when Europe’s skeet stars aim for continental glory from 9-11 September in Larnaca, Cyprus. Find out everything you need to know about the event below.
Following a thrilling trap competition, the skeet finals at the 2022 the European Championship in Shotgun are set to take place between 9 and 11 September, with nothing short of Olympic qualification on the line.
Four shooting quota places for Paris 2024 will be awarded during the championships, with two each available for men’s skeet and women’s skeet.
In addition to this, ranking points attained within the championship will be valid for the 2022 World Ranking, the Qualification Ranking for Paris 2024 Olympic Games (QROG), and the Qualification Ranking for the 2023 European Games (QREG).
As well as the individual competitions for men and women, there will also be mixed team (one woman and one man) and team (three members) European titles on offer.

When and where will the skeet competition at the 2022 European Championship in Shotgun take place?
The championship will take place at the Larnaca Olympic Shooting Range in Cyprus, where athletes will compete on five combined ranges for skeet.
The finals of the women's and men's individual competitions will take place on Friday 9 September, when the Olympic quota places are set to be decided, with the action continuing through to 11 September with mixed team and team finals.
The maximum amount of starters for the men’s skeet competition is 90. On the women’s side, a maximum of 42 competitors will compete.
Skeet athletes to watch at the 2022 European Championship in Shotgun
Stars from across Europe will be out in force for the championship, including medallists from the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games in 2021.
Among them, you can count on men’s skeet silver medallist and 2013 world champion Jesper Hansen of Denmark who finished behind only the USA's Vincent Hancock at last year's Olympics. Also keep a close eye on Italy's Diana Bacosi who stood on the top of the podium at Rio 2016 and won silver at the last edition of the Games in Japan.
Many of the French contingent will be eager to show their mettle less than two years out from their home Games, including Eric Delaunay, who came fifth in men’s skeet at Tokyo 2020.
