Double Olympic gold medallist Hanyu Yuzuru showed the heart of a champion as he narrowly missed out on a medal in the men single skating... at Beijing 2022. Hanyu was lying 8th after the short programme and in his free skating he attempted to become the first athlete to land a quadruple axel in competition. But he fell short of his bid to gain a place on the podium, and in the end he had to settle for fourth place. Nathan Chen (USA) took gold, with Hanyu’s Japanese compatriots Kagiyama Yuma and Uno Shoma claiming silver and bronze respectively.
