We have pledged to organise the Games in a way that spurs social progress and sustainable development. We have already started to do everything within our reach to fulfil that promise. Our most solid guarantee is our Social Charter, which guides every stage of the Games preparation process and our everyday work. The charter establishes and promotes a series of social commitments designed to build a lasting legacy from the work of the Olympic and Paralympic Games Organising Committee and SOLIDEO, the company tasked with delivering the Olympic facilities.
The Games and their rallying power
The Social Charter was signed by Paris 2024, SOLIDEO, businesses and local authorities on one side, and by civil society, trade unions (CFDT, CFE-CGC, CFTC, CGT, FO and CFDT) and employer organisations (U2P, CPME and MEDEF) on the other. It sets a new standard in labour relations and is just another demonstration of the power the Games has to bring people together.
We have appointed a committee that meets every quarter to ensure the charter is properly applied. Its members include representatives from trade unions, employer organisations, Paris 2024 and SOLIDEO.
Union representatives on the Executive Board
Paris 2024’s Executive Board includes a trade-union representative (Bernard Thibault, who represents French unions on the ILO’s Governing Board) and an employer-organisation representative (Geoffroy Roux de Bézieux, who chairs MEDEF).
SOLIDEO’s Board also includes a trade-union representative (Bernard Thibault) and an employer-organisation representative (Dominique Carlac’h, who chairs the Sport Committee at the Mouvement des Entreprises de France).
