Nyjah Huston showed his dominance once again on Friday (15 September) to qualify first for the men's final of WST Lausanne Street 2023.
The 28-year-old American produced a combined score of 262.71 to end the night five points clear of Brazilian Giovanni Vianna in second place.
Huston, who had won the quarter-finals a day earlier, also took home the honour of putting down the night's highest trick score with a 93.04 effort.
World champion Aurélien Giraud, buoyed by a partisan crowd, punched his ticket to the final in third place, just ahead of Olympic gold medallist Horigome Yuto who made it through in fourth.
On a night of high calibre skateboarding, big names were not immune from elimination. Gustavo Ribeiro, back from a recent knee injury, young prodigy Onodera Ginwoo, and Jagger Eaton all fell on the wrong side of the cut-off line and will watch Saturday's final from the sidelines.
The men's contest will conclude with the final at 17:40 CEST (UTC+2) on Saturday, and will be available to stream live on the Olympic Channel via Olympics.com and the official Olympics app.
Before then will be the women's final, featuring Nishiya Momiji and Rayssa Leal will get underway at 16:15 CEST.
As well as a competing for the title, skaters competing in Lausanne will also be able to obtain points towards qualification for Paris 2024.
