Nyjah Huston put down a 75.22 run to finish the men's quarter-finals at WST Lausanne Street 2023 in first place on Thursday (14 September).
The 28-year-old American, who was able to skip Tuesday's open qualifier owing to his Olympic World Skate Ranking, finished five points clear of Olympic champion Horigome Yuto who secured his place in the semi-finals in second (70.12).
Other marquee names set to feature in Friday's semis include Tokyo 2020 Olympic bronze medallist Jagger Eaton, who qualified in fifth, and street world champion Aurelien Giraud, who booked his passage in sixth.
Portugal's Gustavo Ribeiro and 13-year-old Onodera Ginwoo are also through.
Among those who failed to make the cut was Brazil's Kelvin Hoefler. The Olympic silver medallist found himself on the wrong side of the cut-off, finishing the quarter-final in 17th.
The men's competition will continue with the semi-finals, which will be streaming live on the Olympic Channel via Olympics.com and the official Olympics app.
