The World Skateboarding Championships 2022 will be held at the Aljada Skate Park in Sharjah, UAE, from February 1 to February 12, 2023.
The championships have two parts, the World Street Skateboarding Championships (Feb 1-5) and the World Park Skateboarding Championships (Feb 8-12).
The World Skateboarding Championships is a qualifying event for the Paris 2024 Olympics. Competitors can earn valuable ranking points to make the cut for the Summer Games.
Some of the world’s best skateboarders, including Tokyo 2020 Olympic medallists Horigome Yuto, Rayssa Leal, Nishiya Momiji and Jagger Eaton, will be competing in Sharjah and rubbing shoulders with them will be eight Indian skateboarders - five men and three women.

Women: Shradda Gaikwad, Shruti Bholse, Urmila Pable
Among the Indians, Shivam Balhara and Satyam Hangargekar are the youngest. Both are just 15-years-old. Delhi skater Shivam Balhara, a silver medallist from the Khelo India Youth Games 2021 will represent India in both the Park and Street championships.
Shubham Surana, 23, is the most experienced among the eight-member contingent.
Where to watch World Skateboarding Championships live in India
Live streaming of the World Skateboarding Championships will be available on the Olympics.com website in India. However, only the semi-finals and finals of both the Street and Park Championships will be shown.
There will be no live telecast of the World Skateboarding Championships on any TV channel in India.
