World Rugby SVNS series 2024/25: Preview, full schedule, and how to watch live sevens action

Rugby Sevens
Interest in rugby sevens is booming after an epic Paris 2024 Olympics where 530,000 fans witnessed the action live, and most of the players will be back in action in the 2024/25 SVNS Series.
This season will feature seven rounds of electric entertainment around the globe with the league winners being crowned on the penultimate stop in Singapore.
In previous years, that would be followed by a Grand Final, however this season the players will instead lock horns one final time at the SVNS World Championship 2025 in Los Angeles' Dignity Health Sports Park, which will also host rugby sevens at the LA 2028 Olympic Games.
Other notable venues include the brand-new Kai Tak Sports Park venue in Hong Kong, China, for which the SVNS competition will be the inaugural event following its construction.
Elsewhere, there will be an all-female match officials panel for the women’s SVNS 2025 for the first time.
As in previous years, SVNS 2025 will kick off with a blockbuster event at the Sevens Stadium in Dubai from 30 November 2024.
SVNS series 2024/25: Teams to watch out for
There will be plenty of scores to settle in 2025 with France and Australia the men's and women's Series defending champions respectively.
Argentina's men will be desperate to avenge their SVNS Grand Final and Olympic quarter-final losses to Les Bleus - a job made easier with the French talisman Antoine Dupont's departure to rejoin his nations 15s team.
New Zealand's women lost the Grand Final to Australia but arguably had the last laugh last year when they defended their Olympic title in the French capital.
It will also be intriguing to see if the **Ilona Maher-**inspired U.S. women's team can kick on following their historic Olympic bronze medal at Paris 2024 and with the added incentive of a home World Championships.
Kenya and Uruguay are back in the men's competition after their promotion via the 2024 Grand Final in Madrid, replacing Canada and Samoa. In the women's series, the People's Republic of China secured core team status in place of South Africa.
The SVNS 2025 teams will line up as follows:
Men: Argentina, Australia, Fiji, France, Great Britain, Ireland, Kenya, New Zealand, South Africa, Spain, USA, Uruguay.
Women: Australia, Brazil, Canada, People's Republic of China, Fiji, France, Great Britain, Ireland, Japan, New Zealand, Spain, USA.

The 2024/25 Rugby SVNS series is available to watch live with World Rugby's broadcast and digital streaming partners in each country.
They include Rugby Pass for many countries and territories, Peacock/NBC in the United States, and Sky in New Zealand.
