World Games breaking: Ami and Victor steal the show

Ahead of its Olympic debut at Paris 2024, breaking wows the crowd in World Games debut.

Yuasa Ami of Japan cemented her place in the breaking history books by winning the first ever gold medal in the discipline at the World Games in Birmingham, Alabama.

B-Girl Ami showed that she is one of the world's top breakers by putting in a composed and technically-superb performance that saw her sweep the gold medal battle 4-0 against New York City's Sunny.

2021 breaking world champion, b-girl Ayumi (Fukushima Ayumi), took home the bronze in the b-girl competition to make it a memorable night for Japan.

Victor edges all-American b-boy final

On the men's side of the competition, it was an all-American final to thrill the full capacity crowd at the historic Sloss Furnaces venue in Birmingham.

Orlando's Victor Montalvo earned the gold medal with a stunning set of performances on the floor throughout the night showcasing his versatility, and culminating with a 3-1 victory over fellow USA competitor Jeffro.

2018 Youth Olympic Games breaking bronze medallist Shigekix (Japan's Nakarai Shigeyuki) won the bronze medal, defeating Spain's Xak 4-0.

Olympic fans can look forward to watching these world class breakers make history in two years time when the discipline will make its debut at Paris 2024.
