The two sprinters are expected to open their 2024 season on 6 April at the invitational meeting in Florida.

The reigning 100 and 200m world champions, Sha’Carri Richardson and Shericka Jackson, are set to open their season at the 2024 Miramar Invitational on 6 April.

Both sprinters haven’t raced since the Prefontaine Classic in Eugene last September, where Jamaican Jackson wrapped up her season winning the 100m for the Diamond League Trophy, with Richardson placing fourth.

Double world gold medallist Richardson was among the standout performers at last year’s Miramar Invitational. She dashed to a wind-aided 10.57 seconds, the fourth-fastest 100m time in athletics history in all wind conditions.

The American, who has been nominated for the 2024 Laureus Sportswoman of the Year, went on to dominate her races in 2023 which culminated with the two world titles in Budapest in the 100m and 4x100m relay, as well as 200m bronze.

Jackson, a five-time Olympic medallist, also featured in the 2023 Miramar meet in Florida, finishing third in the women’s 400m.

Twanisha Terry, who was also part of the U.S. 4x100m relay winning team in Budapest, is also set to line-up for the women’s 100m.

The meet should also feature other exciting athletes, with Christian Coleman, the reigning world 60m indoor champion; Tajay Gayle, the world long jump gold medallist; and American Ajee Wilson, the double world 800m medallist who is likely to race the 600m.
