Three Paris 2024 Olympic champions and three world record breakers, including Sifan Hassan and Yomif Kejelcha, are among 10 athletics stars long-listed for the World Athletics Out of Stadium Athlete of the Year 2024 awards.

The 10 athletes include five women and five men, nine of whom are road runners and the other a race walker. The list includes four winners of World Marathon Majors in 2024.

They have been announced as nominees for the awards as part of a revamped voting procedure for the 2024 World Athletics Awards.

Two finalists in each category will progress to be considered for the overall World Athlete of the Year awards.
