The Women’s Premier League 2025 mini auction is scheduled to be held on December 15 in Bengaluru, the Board of Control for Cricket in India confirmed on Saturday.

At the WPL 2025 auction, 120 players, including 91 Indian cricketers, 29 international stars and three players from Associate Nations, will vie for 19 available slots. Of the 19, five are reserved for overseas players.

Under the uncapped category, there will be 82 Indians and eight overseas players available during the auction.

Last month, teams announced their retained and released players ahead of WPL 2025. Smriti Mandhana, Harmanpreet Kaur, Ellyse Perry, Shafali Verma and Meg Lanning were some of the star players retained by their respective teams.

As per the WPL 2025 rules, each cricket team can have a maximum of 18 players in their squad, including six overseas recruits.

Among the five WPL teams, Gujarat Giants have the biggest purse at INR 4.4 crore. They need to sign four players, including two overseas, from the upcoming auction.

Delhi Capitals, Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bengaluru too have four slots to fill each, however, DC and MI need only one overseas player while RCB need none.

UP Warriorz have to pick three players from the auction, including one overseas.

Delhi Capitals will have the smallest purse with INR 2.5 crore.

There are three players from Associate teams available in the auction: UAE's Samaira Dharnidharka and Theertha Satish and Scotland's Sarah Bryce. Teams can go for seven overseas players in their squad provided they are from Associate nations.

West Indies' Deandra Dottin, England's Heather Knight and India's Sneh Rana and Poonam Yadav are expected to attract some of the top bids during the WPL 2025 auction.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru, captained by Smriti Mandhana, are the defending WPL champions. They beat Delhi Capitals in the final last season.
