Seven-time Olympic swimming gold medallists Katie Ledecky and Caeleb Dressel highlight the field for the 2023 U.S. Swimming Championships, set for 27 June to 1 July in Indianapolis, Indiana. The event also serves as the Team USA selection event for the 2023 World Championships.
The World Aquatics Championships will be in held in Fukuoka, Japan, in July.
Ledecky, the world record holder in the women’s 800-meter and 1500m freestyle, will use the event as a steppingstone to add to her incredible haul at the global event where she owns 22 medals, including 14 individual golds.
After withdrawing from the 2022 World Championships last June, Dressel was away from competition for nearly a year.
"I know I can have swimming and happiness," Dressel said of his time away from the sport in September. "I had them both at one point in my life and I’m working on it. If you need a break, take one. I’ll be back."
He made his return at the Atlanta Classic last month, finishing second in the men’s 100m butterfly and third in the 50m free.
