How to watch Noah Lyles, Erriyon Knighton, Fred Kerley, Michael Norman, and Kenny Bednarek compete at USA Track and Field Championships 2023
Sprinters Lyles and Knighton produced a thrilling finish at last year's World Championship trials. Find out how to watch them again in Eugene this year where the men's 100m and 200m races promise fireworks.
It was a memorable finish and a slightly controversial one as well.
The men's 200m final at the USA Track and Field Championships in June 2022 saw reigning world champion Noah Lyles meet teenage sensation Erriyon Knighton.
Lyles was facing one of only two Americans, Michael Johnson being the other, to have run faster than him over the half-lap track athletics distance after Knighton ran 19.49 to break Usain Bolt's world junior record the previous April.
And despite a sluggish start, it was the more experienced sprinter who produced a storming finish to pass Knighton just before the line and take victory.
Before he broke the tape, Lyles appeared to point his finger at his younger rival although he later explained he was gesturing to his doubters.
At the 2022 World Championships, he came out on top again in a new American record of 19.31 with Knighton finishing in the bronze medal position behind Kenny Bednarek, who also won Olympic silver in Tokyo.
Now 12 months on, the pair will be at the USA Track and Field Championships which double up as trials for August's Budapest World Championships.
There will be no rematch in Eugene, however, with Lyles opting only to run the 100m at the USATF event, due to his Wildcard place in the world 200m as the defending champion.
The 200m could be one of the races of the meet in Oregon, with Knighton up against Bednarek and world champions Fred Kerley and Michael Norman who have respective 100m and 400m Wildcards in Budapest.
Only the top three in each event - subject to having achieved the World Championship qualifying standard - will make the USA team for the World Championships.
