The track cycling season is reaching its conclusion, and after the summer highs of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, the world's best will look to end 2024 with rainbow jerseys at the 2024 UCI Track World Championships.
Ballerup, Denmark, plays host from 16–20 October at the Ballerup Super Arena, the third time – and first in 14 years – that the Championships are visiting the town.
A total of 22 rainbow jerseys will be awarded to the new world champions, in 11 men's and 11 women's events.

2024 UCI Track World Championships: Men's cyclists to watch
On the men's side, triple Paris 2024 Olympic champion Harrie Lavreysen looks to add to his medal haul.
The Dutchman is defending world champion in both the individual and team sprints, and will look to repeat in both events as well as regain his world keirin title from 2022.
Lavreysen's team sprint compatriot Jeffrey Hoogland, the reigning world champion in the non-Olympic 1km time trial event, is also a likely medal threat.
The endurance events appear a little more open, however, with the Olympic champions in the Madison and omnium not competing.
It could open up an opportunity for the likes of Britain's Ethan Hayter in the omnium, while Italy's Elia Viviani and Simone Consonni, the Paris silver medallists, enter as Madison favourites.
Notably, Filippo Ganna is not entered in the team pursuit and is only defending his individual pursuit title in Ballerup.
2024 UCI Track World Championships: Women's cyclists to watch
New Zealand's Ellesse Andrews dominated the sprint events in the velodrome at Paris 2024, but the defending world keirin champion and double Paris gold medallist isn't racing in Ballerup.
That ought to open the door for someone like Great Britain's Emma Finucane, who is entered in five different events, to dominate the quick power races.
One Olympic champion who is competing, however, is the USA's Jennifer Valente, the two-time omnium gold medallist from Tokyo and Paris. Valente is the defending world champion in the omnium and the non-Olympic scratch event, and is entered in five different endurance events.
However, in the points race and elimination race, she will come up against Belgium's defending champion Lotte Kopecky. Yes, the same Lotte Kopecky who won road race world gold in Zurich at the end of last month in addition to Olympic road race bronze in Paris.
It's set to be an exciting clash.
Venue for the 2024 UCI Track World Championships: Ballerup Super Arena
This year marks the first time the Championships return to the Ballerup Super Arena for the first time since 2010.
The arena boasts a wooden track, made from Siberian larch measuring 250m long by 8.15m wide. The bends are banked at 45°, with the straights banked at 14°.
It is the 12th time Denmark will host the Championships, and third time they have taken place at the Super Arena after 2002 and 2010.
